The work related to the restoration of the Monument to Michelangelo began with the dismantling of the four corner statues, bronze copies of the marble “Allegories” sculpted by Michelangelo for the tombs of the Medici princes in the New Sacristy in San Lorenzo (Florence).
The four copies have been moved into a lab, in order to facilitate the required restoration activities.
